The
Wrestler is Nancy's second wrestling painting. A faceless, timeless depiction
of a wrestler that could be from any era, this Wrestler has paid his dues. He
has the unmistakable sculpted wrestler's physique obtained only through years
of training. He is unfazed by battle. Is he dripping with blood? Sweat? Tears?
All three? Did he just lose or was he the victor? The stance of a warrior; he
stands above the triviality of winning and losing. He poses more questions than
he answers. A blue, and exaggerated, left hand and forearm. An injury; or, an
overt posture and display of power, intended to intimidate opponents?
